I posted this in the general forum topic by accident, but it really should be in the research section. I also started a new topic because the old one was from 2009.

I have been trying to disentangle some of the early Autlán families. Some of it is on solid footing, but some of it is based on secondary sources that I am pretty sure are NOT correct. The problem is one of chronology and probably of people named similarly (here we go again). My questions concern the identity of the Father of Inés de Tapia y Aguayo. But I really want to see a primary source, because the secondary sources do not agree with each other.

It is certain that Conq. Antonio de Aguayo was from Portillo in Spain, that he was an hijodalgo, and according to Icasa was the son of Martín de Aguayo and Catalina de Ledezma. He was certainly married to Juana de Padilla as can be seen in the PARES link mentioned in an older post, image 3, and which says he had 5 children. The link still works, which is a Méritos y Servicios letter from 1562 still works:

What is NOT a given is whether there is primary source evidence to prove that he (Conq. Antonio de Aguayo) married Elvira de la Peña. Here is my problem. If the Conq. Antonio de Aguayo married Elvira de la Peña, it would have had to have been AFTER Juana de Padilla died (which date I do not have but would have had to be after 1562). In her summary short work named “Familias Corona y Michel en Autlán de la Grana” Sylvia Herenia Corona Cortés quotes Dr. Villaseñor Bordes that Antonio de Aguayo would have married Elvira between 1533 and 1542. But this does not make sense based on the knows facts about his supposed daughter. He would in fact more likely need to marry her after Juana de Padilla. There is some agreement between secondary sources that AN Antonio de Aguayo is the father of Inés de Tapia y Aguayo (ca. 1590-1636), wife of Hernán González Corona (I) (1577-1622). The problem is that that would have to mean that Inés de Tapia y Aguayo would have had to be born at the latest by 1562, but she was having children in the 1610s, which would make her far too old. Her marriage is well attested in the Inventario de Bienes de Difuntos from 1622 http://pares.mcu.es/ParesBusquedas20/catalogo/description/3590623?nm as well as the “Anuario de la Academia de Genealogía y Heráldica ‘Mota Padilla’” of 1955, p. 97: “Que entre los hijos y herederos que quedaron por fin y muerte de Hernán González Corona y doña Inés de Tapia y Aguayo; quedaron tres menores, que son: Hernán González Corona, mayor de catorce años y menor de veinticinco, y Doña Petrona Corona, mayores de doce años y menores de veinticinco..."
Also on the same page of the Anuario:
"En el pueblo de Autlán de la Nueva España en 26 días del mes de noviembre de 1636 años, Cristóbal Manzano, marido y conjunta persona de Doña María Corona, hija legítima de Doña Inés de Tapia y Aguayo y Hernán González Corona, ya difuntos, parezco ante vuesa merced en la mejor vía y forma que a mi derecho convenga, y digo que por fin y muerte de la dicha doña Inés de Tapia y Aguayo, mi suegra, se partieron los bienes que dejó, entre sus hijos y herederos que fueron: Doña Francisca Corona, mujer legítima de Don Alvaro Sánchez de Guzmán; y Diego González Corona; Doña Isabel Corona, mujer legítima de Juan Martín Manzano; Doña María Corona, mi esposa; Doña Antonia Corona, mujer legítima de Manuel Salgado; Hernán Gonzaléz Corona; Doña Juana Corona y Doña Petrona Corona".
"De los solteros enumerados, Diego casó con Mariana Ruiz Galindo y con el hermano de ésta, Juan Ruiz Galindo, casó Juana; Petrona o Petronila fue la esposa de José Fernández de la Cueva".

Rubén Villaseñor Bordes, in his book “Autlan”, p. 41 says “Hernán González Corona, marido de Inés de Tapia, hija de Antonio de Aguayo.” The question is which Antonio de Aguayo? Jesús Amaya Topete in his work “Ameca” would suggest that this Antonio de Aguayo is not the same as the Conquistador as follows: "AGUAYO, ANTONIO - (Hijo de Francisco), casó con Elvira, hija de Hernán Ruiz de la Peña. En 1609 declaró en Autlán ser suyos dos sitios para ganado mayor y cuatro caballerías de tierra que compró a nombre de su yerno Hernán González Corona, casado con su hija Inés de Tapia y Aguayo, a Juan Bautista de Lomas y Colmenares. Este las recibió hasta 1610 del alcalde mayor de Autlán, y las traspasó a Aguayo, quien en 1612 las pasó a Hernán" p.3. As we can see from the above dates, there is no way for an Antonio de Aguayo, born in 1510, to still be making land purchases in 1609-1612.

So, again, my question for our valued members: does anyone know if the will for Antonio de Aguayo has been found? Or does anyone have primary source evidence showing that the Conq. Antonio de Aguayo is indeed the father of Inés de Tapia from his union with Elvira de la Peña?

My hypothesis at this point is that the Antonio de Aguayo thought to be the father of Inés de Tapia y Aguayo is probably one to two generations removed from the Conq Antonio de Aguayo Nothing else makes sense of the chronology.

Empieza en la imagen 248, pero al final; en la imagen 249 dice lo siguiente textualmente (no he transcrito todo el testamento pues es muy largo, per he tratado de sacar lo más improtante para la genealogía de los Moscoso e Híjar):

“En el nombre de la Santísma trinidad padre Yjo, i espíritu santo…
Sepan quantos esta escritura de testamento y ultima y postrimera boluntad bieren como yo doña Costanza de Yjar y mesa besina deste puebro de autlan…
Primeramente encomiendo a nuestro señor Jesuchristo que la compro y redimio por su presiosa sangre muerte y pasión y el cuerpo a la tierra el qual mando que quando la boluntad de dios nuestro señor fuere de me llevar desta presente bida sea enterrada en la yglesia de mi seráfico padre San fransisco deste pueblo de autlan y en la sepolture y entierro donde están enterrados mis padres que sean en gloria…
Y ten ordeno y mando se digan luego en este convento de autlan tres novenarios cantados ofrendados de pan y vino y sera por el alma el uno de mi padre Don. Lorenso de Castro y mesa otro por mi madre y señora Doña Costansa de Yjar y el otro mi querido hermano don gregorio de castro y mesa…

Esto prueba fehacientemente que Lorenzo de Castro y Mesa y su esposa Costanza de Híjar están enterrados en Autlán. También prueba que Don Suero Vázquez de Moscoso (II) es hijo de Don Lorenzo de Castro y Mesa y de Doña Costanza de Híjar y que heredó la hacienda de la Herradura.

Dicho Suero (II) es padre de Joseph de Moscoso por lo que se puede ver en una declaración de 1703 que se encuentra en en el libro Autlán, p. 12:

“En el pueblo de Autlán de la Nueva España en primero de marzo de mil setecientos y tres años. Ante mí el Capitán don Tomás de la Parra, Alcalde Mayor de esta Provincia y Capitán a Guerra del Puerto de la Navidad por su Magestad... (se presentó) Joseph de Moscosso, vecino de este pueblo de Autlán,... y quiere lexitimar con Información bastante, la propiedad que tiene assi en dicho sitio como en los demás... = = En el Pueblo de Autlán en tres días del mes de marzo de mil setecientos y tres años esta parte presentó por testigo a Domingo de Suasso, español vecino de este dicho pueblo a quien le recibí Juramento a Dios Nuestro Señor, y a la Señal de la Cruz en forma socargo del cual prometió decir verdad en lo que supiese y le fuése preguntado y siéndolo al thenor del interrogatorio dixo: ==
Que desde pequeña edad conoce al dicho Joseph de Moscosso y que así mismo conoció a Don Soro Vásquez de Moscosso su padre, a quien varias veces le oió decir ser su hijo y siempre le vio estar bajo su patria potestad y que dicho don Soro hizo y otorgó su testamento, en el cual le declaró por tal su hijo Heredero y Albacea... Y que así mesmo sabe estuvo dicho testamento en el archivo de las Cassas Reales que se quemaron en este pueblo... De que doy fe = = Don Tomás de la Parra = Domingo de Suasso = Franco, de Suasso = Thomas Alvarez de Sierra y Pambley”

Esto nos permite entonces entroncar a los Moscoso del siglo XVIII con los primeros Moscoso de Autlán y Nueva Galicia.

Aquí mis dos pregunta para nuestros estimados miembros:

1) Alguien tiene documentos primarios demostrando que la esposa del Cap. Lorenzo de Castro y Mesa es hija de Suero Vázquez de Moscoso y Figueroa?

La evidencia circunstancial es la siguiente:
Auto de Bienes de difuntos de Lorenzo de Castro y Mesa:
“Autos del inventario de bienes de Lorenzo de Castro y Mesa, vecino del pueblo de Autlán y alcalde mayor del partido de Guachinango. Actuados ante Fernando Castilla y Espinosa, alcalde ordinario de la ciudad de Guadalajara.”

There are several references to Diego de Aguayo (el viejo y el mozo) in GENEALOGIA DE NOCHISTLAN ANTIGUO REINO DE LA NUEVA GALICIA EN EL SIGLO XVII SEGUN SUS ARCHIVOS PARROQUIALES by Jose Luis Vazquez y Rodriguez de Frias. On cursory review, none of them match what you already know about your ancestor. In my Aguayo research, however, most or all of the Diegos de Aguayo born in the late 16th, 17th, and 18th century stem from Antonio de Aguayo, the conquistador who came to New Spain from Portillo, Spain in 1525. Sorry, I couldn't be more helpful in your search, but I will continue to watch for your Diego de Aguayo in my research.

I thought I might share what I know (or what I think I know…) about the Martín Chávez of Sierra de Pinos.

At the top of this line we have miner Juan Martín Chávez and his wife, Isabel Pérez, residents on La Pendencia. The earliest record I have found of them baptizing a child is from 15 Jan 1629, but both of their names appear on a marriage record from 9 Nov 1627 (she was madrina and he a witness), so they might have been married by that date.

I have them with 12 children (please let me know if I miss anything):

• Juan Martín Chávez “el Mozo,” born around 1635 (might be the unnamed child baptized in Oct 1635, whose padrinos were Rafael Suarez de Figueroa and his wife); d. 19 May 1683, San Luis Potosi; m. Juana de Rivera. His wife and 4 children died tragically between Apr 1 and Apr 28, 1683, before he finally succumbed on May 19.
• Nicolás Martín Chávez, born before 1639, m. Isabel de Longoria, im 28 Apr 1669, San Matías, Pinos, Zac (to be married in Mazapil).
• Joseph Martín Chávez, b. 29 Aug 1639, San Matías, Pinos, Zac, d. 10 Dec 1705, Mazapil, Zac; m1. Luisa de Huerta, m2. María de la Oliva, 28 Oct 1681, San Francisco, Charcas, SLP.
• Teresa Martín Chávez, b. 25 Sep 1643, San Matías, Pinos, Zac; d. 17 Aug 1678, San Matías, Pinos, Zac; m. Joseph de Espino.

• Diego Martín Chávez, b. 15 Mar 1654, San Matías, Pinos, Zac. Padrinos: Diego Delgado (el Moso) y Doña Isabel [de Islas Martínez Lozano] su muger.

Another probable son is Francisco Martín Chávez, born around 1631 on La Pendencia, and later a resident of San Miguel Mexquitic, SLP.

ORIGINS

According to his burial record, dated 22 Aug 1662, Juan Martín Chávez was from la ciudad de Lagos en los Algarbas en los Reinos de Castilla (Lagos, Faro, Portugal), and he was the son of Juan de Chávez and Beatriz González (courtesy of the abstracts of Mary Lou Montagna).

Isabel Pérez’s origin was revealed in the marriage dispensation of their daughter, Isabel Martín Chávez, who married Juan Díaz de Argandoña in 1699. They were dispensed at 3rd degree: he was the son of Andrés Díaz de Argandoña and Beatriz de Olavi, and according to witnesses, his maternal grandmother, María de Contreras, was the legitimate sister of Antonio Flores, who, being unmarried, had a child with a Coyota woman, and this child was sent to be raised on the Hacienda of Espiritu Santo in Sierra de Pinos, in the home of Capitán Gabriel Ortiz and Isabel Pérez, owners of said hacienda, who christened the child Isabel Pérez, after her adoptive mother; the owners of said hacienda later married the young Isabel to Juan Martín Chávez, and during their marriage, they begat Isabel Martín Chávez, the bride-to-be. The parentesco would look like this:

Isabel Martín Chávez-3-Juan Díaz

So, though we’ll sadly never know the name of the birth mother of Isabel Pérez, we know that her father was Antonio Flores, who had a sister named María de Contreras, who was married to someone surnamed “Olavi.”

MARÍA DE CONTRERAS cc JUAN DE OLAVIDES

While going through the baptism book of Santa Fe, Guanajuato, I came upon a María de Contreras who was married to a miner named Joannes de Olavide. They baptized six children between 1605 and 1617. According to the baptism record of one of their sons, they had also lived in las Minas de los Ramos, bishopric of Guadalajara. Could this be the same María de Contreras mentioned in the cited dispensa, “Olavi” being a variation of “Olavide”?

Found in the marriage records of San Matías Sierra de Pinos, is that of Ygnasio de Olabid and Casilda de Contreras, married on 26 Jul 1639 on the Hacienda de El Peñol; their padrinos were none other than Juan Martín Chávez and María de Contreras, and witnesses were Alonso de Contreras and Andrés Díaz de Argandoña. Joannes de Olavide and María Contreras baptized a son named Ygnacio on 15 Aug 1612, and this is undoubtably him. I think we can say without a doubt that they are also the parents of Beatriz de Olavi, whose husband, Andrés Díaz de Argandoña, was a witness to this same marriage.

So I turned my attention to the church records of Santa Fe, Guanajuato:

From these records, we can piece together that there were four siblings: María de Contreras, Beatriz de Contreras, Francisco de Contreras and Leonor de Contreras. We already know that María de Contreras was the sister of Antonio Flores (who might be the same who appeared as a padrino with Beatriz de Contreras in June 1608). According to his 1621 marriage record, Francisco de Contreras was the son of Juan Mecina (deceased) and Francisca Flores (she might be the same mentioned in the 20 Feb 1615 baptism record). Logically, they - or at least one of them - would be the parents of the other four siblings.

Juan Mecina and/or Francisca Flores:

• María de Contreras cc Joannes de Olavide
• Leonor de Contreras cc Sebastian de Çubimendi
• Francisco de Contreras cc doña Catalina de Miranda Valmaseda
• Beatriz de Contreras (doncella)
• Antonio Flores

I can’t say it’s conclusive, but from the available documents, it’s a compelling argument. What do you think?

I'm researching my family tree in Leon, Guanajuato. I'm trying to find the name of the town that my ancestor, Jose Epifanio Monjaras, was born in. In the attached Baptism record, the town looks like it says Caraeol, but I'm not having any luck finding that town or anything similar. The Baptism was in Leon, so the town must be near. Parents names are Juan Monjaras and Andrea Ramires. See attached image.

These are the indexes of the early baptism books of the San Matias parish in Sierra de Pinos. They were extracted from photocopies that Mary Lou Montagna had done during her visits to Pinos in the 1990’s. Sarod77 was kind enough to assist with this transcription, and I can’t thank her enough. I am compiling all of these books - the baptisms, confirmations & marriages - into one PDF, which I will make available for download.

Condition of documents

The condition of the pages vary: most pages are clear and legible, while some are torn, with portions missing, others are blotched or faded. In some cases, we were able to deduce who an individual was from the name of their spouse, and their names will be included in brackets [...]. We were also able to deduce dates from previous and following entries.

From Image 45/82 through 64/82 (roughly, from Jan 1627 to Jan 1632), some of the pages appear to be out of order, and one is even duplicated (images 46 and 52 are identical). There are likely some pages missing. Unfortunately, in this section of the book, the top portions of several pages - where the page numbers are written - are torn away. On top of that, the year number is usually given only at the beginning of each calendar year, and on the first entry: on all other entries, it says “de dicho año.” So, though individual months are visible, it can be several pages before a year number is seen. In addition, there are entries that were added at a later date, so they’re “not where they’re supposed to be.” For these reasons, it’s difficult to know whether the images are in order.

That said, rather than to trying to determine the correct order of these pages, I’ve decided to publish “as is,” and let the researcher interpret it. Otherwise, the rest of the images, Pinos 1/82 to 44/82, and Pinos 65/82 to 80/82, appear to be in the correct sequence.

Spelling & Abbreviations

I try to use the given spelling and abbreviations of names, surnames and place names. I also try to include other details that may be of interest, such as relationships, locations and ownership of haciendas. In the original books, the use of capitals and lower-case letters are all over the map, so capitals and punctuation in these transcriptions are mine.

Abbreviations used:

“comᵉ” = comadre (godmother)
“compᵉ” = compadre (godfather)
“dha/dho” = dicha/dicho (aforementioned)
“pp” = padrino/s, madrina/s (godparent/s)
“tt” = testigo/s (witness/s)

Does anyone have any information on the Aguayo's of Nochistlan. In particular Jose Maria Aguayo born abt. 1815 - deceased abt 1838. I'm trying to find his parents. I have been searching for months and have hit a solid brick wall.

Jose Maria Aguayo (b. abt 1815) and Tereza Gomez (b. abt 1817) had a daughter Feliciana Aguayo (b. 1837). I was able to find, with a little more detective work) That Tereza Gomez remarried. She married Margarito Gomez as Tereza de Aguayo "vuida" in 1839. I assume Jose Maria Aguayo then died abt. 1838.

There are "testigos" in Feliciana Aguayo and Longino Gomez marriage certificate (5/12/1859) with the names Pedro Aguayo and Sebastiana Tolentino but I have hit a brick wall on those name too.

I did find several Jose Maria Aguayo's born around that time in Nochistlan but without any connection it's hard for me to add to my ancestry line. Any help would be appreciated.

My grandfather was Jose' Socorro Luevano de Marinez. He was given as an award of the church which I believe was Hacienda de Cieneguilla, in Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes, Mexico at a young age for priesthood training. I am trying to confirm that this was actually a church that trained young people for entry into the priesthood. I actually found the remains of the church/seminary in a Google search. My grandfather was born in Paso de Sotos, Jalisco, Mexico on 12 May 1892 which was recorded in the church, Teocaltiche, Jalisco, Mexico, registry on 17 May 1892. His parents were Tiburcio Luevano and Manuela Martinez. He was then baptized on 18 May 1892 in the church, La Santisima Trinidad, in Villa Hidalgo, Jalisco, Mexico, where his name was recorded as Jose del Socorro Luebano. He then left the church in about 1914, entering the United States, and was married to Cecilia Montoya on 13 November 1915, in Harris County, Texas, United States. This information was validated by his children and documented in the sources in FamilySearch. He told his children of his place of birth and that he was awarded to the church at a young age for priesthood training. He often referred to Hacienda de Cieneguilla and Aguiascalientes, Aguasclientes, Mexico as boyhood places of his young childhood.

My basic question is (Is Hacienda de Cieneguilla a church or seminary in Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes, Mexico, a reasonable place where Jose' could have attended priesthood training?)

I am looking for information regarding the Marquez families in Teocaltiche, more specifically from Atepoca.  I was told that my great grandmother, Francisca Marquez lived in a Hacienda, but I can not find that information anywhere.  Does anybody know how I can go about finding out that information?  

I only descend from Charlamagne on both of my parent's sides, not Muhammad "the prophet".

I have begun to systematically go through film 0443967 (Tlaltenango Matrimonios 1626-1723) since the film is not indexed. I am up to about 1642 now and about 80-90% of the marriages are for Indios with no surnames. However, there are a few indios with surnames and a few Spanish marriages interspersed there and I imagine that will increase as I go further in time on the film.

If anybody has any families/lineages that they want me to keep an eye open for while I do this, please let me know.

Just wondering if anyone has seen something like this. For the marriage of Diego Ximenez and Apolonia Diaz de Leon (Ruis de Esparza), there is a marriage recorded in Asientos (Nuestra Señora de Belen) on 23 enero 1710 (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-67YS-D95?i=23&wc=M6QX-…). The entry starts at the end of page 23 and continues on page 24. But there is an entry in Informacion Matrimonial in the city of Aguascalientes dated 8 febrero 1710 (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-DCF9-WL6?i=226&wc=M6QX…) for the same couple. I cannot find a marriage record in February or March in El Sagrario records. A curiosity.

I have discovered that I am a descendant of Lorenzo de Luevana (died abt. 28 Jul 1741 in Aguascalientes) and his wife, Catharina Marin de Tiscareño (died about 25 Jul 1737). I have Lorenzo's parents' names from his burial record, but the parents of Catharina were not mentioned in hers. I looked at some trees at Family Search and Ancestry to try and get a sense of additional ancestors for this couple, and while some names are mentioned, I don't see any specific proof to add connections. For example,  the marriage record for Lorenzo's parents, Andres de Luevana and Cristina de Salazar, does not include parents, but people have identified some; however, there is no noted record to confirm the connection. 

Does anyone have any more on Lorenzo and Catharina (I'd like an identification and proof of her parents) or on Lorenzo's ancestry?

Recently I have been revisiting some lines that I had worked on a few years ago, trying to tie down some loose ends.

Two loose ends I wanted to put forward regarding Cristóbal Martínez Lozano (el Viejo) are the following:

1) In "Retoños de España" it is stated that Cristobal obtained genealogical information from the city of Leon. My two questions are a)which León, Castilla or Guanajuato?
b)Has someone found this information such that you could share the images or the transcription? Below is the quote from Retoños
"Este caballero promovió la información genealógica a que con anterioridad se hace referencia y que se levantó en la Villa de León -cosa hasta cierto punto extraña porque en ella no tuvo intereses patrimoniales ni familiares- el 28 de febrero de 1628," Vol. 1, Volume 5, Part 2. I do not have an exact page number because the online source that is quoting this did not provide one.

2) Has someone found Cristobal's will? That would probably say whose daughter María de Isla was and whether she was indeed the illegitimate daughter or Benito de Isla, and who the mother was. I know some of the Aguascalientes wills are available online, but his is not listed. I am wondering if it would be in Guadalajara?

Diosele sepultura al pie de la peña del altar de la Ascensión que es su capilla y entierro ordeno se le diga misa cantada de cuerpo presente como es costumbre, ordena y se le diga un novenario de misas rezadas, cien misas por su alma y la de su mujer y cincuenta misas por sus naturales sirvientes, que se le vieren muerto sin aguitar cuentas que le debía, deja quince ducados a la cofradía del santísimo sacramento de esta villa para ganar la indulgencia y que se vuelva a hasentar y en la dicha cofradía sin embargo de que es cofrade. Iten, manda de limosna al convento de San Francisco de la ciudad de Zacatecas veinticinco pesos, a las mandas forzosas a dos reales a cada una todo lo cual mando se paga de sus bienes y que se tomen diez bulas de composición y para que conste lo asente ut supra. Y se entregó el testamento original por mandado de señor licenciado Diego de Torres y Ribera cura beneficiado, juez eclesiástico de esta jurisdicción por su majestad a Jacinto Loçano albacea

For those of you researching Teocaltiche, Jalisco, the attached files will be of interest. These are two sets of extractions of very early death records which I believe have never been microfilmed. The first set (1641-1733) was generously provided to me by the late Dr. J. Leon Helguera, who had received them from another researcher. The second set (1696-1819) was done by me. Note that some of the data overlap and, in a few cases, entries are interpreted differently.

I have seen someone from Mezquitic, Jalisco, Mexico with the surname "Rangel."

Does that go far back to the colonial days of Mezquitic and is that spanish?

En una documento de aspirantes a órdenes del Br. Joseph Miguel Flores de la Torre. Fechado 9 de febrero de 1758 en Xalostitlán, con 21 foxas se encuentra información adicional muy valiosa de la familia Flores de la Torre en la Nueva Galicia. Este documento establece aun más los vínculos que se encuentra en esa familia. Menciona algunos miembros de esta casa que ni tenía en mis archivos.

En el documento menciona que el Br. Joseph Miguel Flores de la Torre era bautizado en la parroquia de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción de Xalostitlán el 5 de octubre de 1735 con el nombre Joseph Miguel María Flores de la Torre y Vallarta. Su padrino de bautizo era el Lic. D. Joseph de Feijóo Centellas, Cura de Guadalajara, hermano del Lic. Sebastián de Feijóo Centellas, Chantre de la Iglesia de Guadalajara y Micaela de Feijóo Centellas, mujer de Manuel Francisco Xavier Rincón Gallardo, IV Mayorazgo de Ciénega del Rincón, ambos hijos del muy afamado Lic. Francisco de Feijóo Centellas, Oídor de la Real Audencia de Guadalajara y su mujer Micaela de Moya y Palacios ambos originarios de los Reinos de Castilla en Málaga, Andalucía.

El Br. Joseph Miguel Flores de la Torre y Vallarta era hijo legítimo de D. Joseph Tomás Flores de la Torre y Franco de Paredes, originario de la parroquia de Xalpa, jurisdición de Aguascalientes y su mujer Da. Ángela Manuela de Vallarta y Lomelín y Mendoza. Éstos casaron en Xalostitlán el 26 de novienmre de 1726. Sólo he encontrado otro hijo que bautizaron, Ignacio Francisco Xavier Flores de la Torre y Vallarta, el 27 de diciembre de 1737 en Xalostitlán.

D. Joseph Tomás Flores de la Torre y Franco de Paredes era hijo legítimo del capitán Joseph Flores de la Torre y Ana Franco de Paredes, antiguos vecinos de Jalpa. Por el otro lado Ángela Manuela de Vallarta era hija del nobílisimo penínsular y patriarca de la familia en Los Altos de Jalisco, Carlos Francisco de Vallarta, Teniente de la Real Justicia de Xalostitlán y Juana de Lomelín y Mendoza. Además, menciona que el Br. Joseph Miguel Flores de la Torre, tenía tres tíos maternos que también entraron en la Iglesia, 1) Br. Carlos Vicente de Vallarta, 2) Br. Antonio de Vallarta y 3) el Br. Joaquín de Vallarta.

Da. Juana de Lomelín y Mendoza era hija de D. Manuel de Lomelín y Mendoza y Da. Josefa Pérez Maldonado, de acuerdo con que establece en su limpieza de sangre. Menciona que un primo (creo debe ser primo segundo, no menciona la relación) del Br. Joseph Miguel Flores de la Torre era el Lic. Diego Pérez Maldonado, Cura Interino de Nochistlán en esos años.

Por el lado paterno, menciona que el Br. Joseph Miguel Flores de la Torre tenía tíos paternos y primos hermanos que también entraron en la Iglesia. Un tío del Br. Joseph Miguel Flores de la Torre era el Br. Cayetano Flores de la Torre, hermano de su padre D. Joseph Tomás Flores de la Torre. Además, tuvo quatro sobrinos éste Joseph Tomás, quatro hijos clerigos, ambos hijos del capitán D. Nicolás Flores de la Torre y Bárabara Isabel González de Hermosillo. Estos debieron ser el Br. Juan Xavier Flores Alatorre, Alumno del Colegio de San Felipe de Neri de Guadalajara, el Dr. Vicente Antonio Flores Alatorre, Cura Vicario de Aguascalientes, el Reverando Juan Manuel Flores Alatorre, Caballero de la Orden de Carlos III y miembro de los Masones y el Padre Manuel Antonio Flores Alatorre que murió en el Vaticano el 28 de enero de 1797. Esta familia funcionaba como el Curato de Aguascalientes por unos cinquenta años en Aguascalientes.

Menciona en las últimas páginas como testigos el Lic. D. Joseph de Feijóo Centellas que le conoce y es su padrino. Su abuelo materno, D. Carlos Francisco de Vallarta originario de los Reinos de Castilla y Teniente de la Real Justicia de Xalostitlán. Menciona, su tío abuelo el Cor. Juan de San Pedro Flores de la Torre, conquistador del Nayarit y Gobernador del Nuevo Reino de Toledo (Colima) y ostentaron otros oficios a que solo se dan a las personas bien nascidos, tenidas y conocidas. Menciona que el Br. Joseph Miguel Flores de la Torre y Vallarta es de calidad español y muy conocido de padres nobles y de linaje bueno y su limpieza de sangre.

Como ven este documento menciona muchísima información genealógica, espero que les gustaron.
