López de Peralta: Atn Guillermo Tovar de Teresa

Estimado Guillermo:

Quisiera saber si era del DF or Portugal.

Contreras Rodriguez

Does anyone know where Mesquite de Charco is located?

I have been looking for this family for a long time and recently found their marriage record 6 March 1803. The following is their IM

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GGLV-T7Y

Jose Tomas Rodriguez (B:1776 in Camarillo, Mesquite de Charco) and Maria Dorothea Contreras en Los Contreras, Mesquite de Charco (1783)

I have seen this name before but can't remember if it was in Zacatecas, or San Luis Potosi. Los Contreras, I have seen this some time ago and can't remember where and I've looked through some records of the contreras and can't find the location. two of their children were born in Lagunillas, but the records are missing or illegible another was born in las Vuidas, I believe in that is in Asientos, Aguascalientes.

Thanks for your help!!

Genealogy Assistance in Guadalajara /Ayuda con la biblioteca "Juan José Arreola" de la UdeG

Has anyone used a local genealogist to obtain records at the government
archives in Guadalajara? There are multiple documents at the Biblioteca
Pública "Juan José Arreola" at the Universidad de Guadalajara but I'm
unable to visit in person to review them. I would like to find someone who
can get access to the Registro de Archivo Civil and hopefully make
copies/take high quality pictures and email them to me. If you know of
anyone who can do this for reasonable compensation, can you share their
information with me?

115 Years Old

Hi I thought I'd share this with you guys. A while back, I found the death certificate of my Great Great Great Great grandmother, Guadalupe Camacho. According to the record, at the time of her death, she was 115 years old. In all my years of searching through the records at Family Search, I've never seen something this incredible. Now I know most records back that recorded ages were usually somewhere around 1-5 years off but even if this is the case, that's still pretty old. Unfortunately, I dont have a marriage or baptism record to back up this claim. Also her last born child was back in 1847 which would have made her 64 at the time. There are several cases of women being able to give birth at such an advance age.

Here's the record.

Ignacio López de Elizalde & Maria Cano

Hello, does anyone have any information on Ignacio López de Elizalde & Maria Cano? I have hit a road block. I know that they were both born sometime between the 1660s - 1670s and for some reason I cannot recall I have their place of birth as Aguacalientes. I tried finding where I got that information but for the life of me cannot retrieve it. I have seen some other people state his parents as Nicolas López de Elizalde y Luevana and Juana de Ortega y Bonilla although I don't want to just add parents without proper documentation. Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks,
Vanessa

Diego Gonzalez Vega (gonzalez hermosillo)

ALESSANDRO VITELA

Does anyone have ALESSANDRO VITELA's email address?

ALESSANDRO VITELA was once a member of nuestrosranchos.orgmunity.

In 2009, ALESSANDRO VITELA had asked for help in finding the parents of Encarnacion Cervantes and Maria Nasaria Navarro.

It wasn't until yesterday when I was looking for members that have Cervantes in their lineage that I reviewed his request and did another search for us information.

I found the information but this morning I checked to see if ALESSANDRO VITELA was still a member of nuestrosranchos. He left our group in 2013. Does anyone have anyway of contacting him so that I may be able to pass on this information?

This is the information that he had asked me for:

"Jose Encarnacion Cervantes is the son of Juan Agustin Cervantes. I am not sure but believe that the name of his mother is Maria del Carmen (Carmel) Santa Cruz.

Maria Nasaria Navarro Napoles is the daughter of Juan Joseph Navarro and Juana Maria Napoles. She was baptized on 8/August/1779.

Maria Nasaria's brother, Jose Antonio Navarro and his wife Maria Feliciana Barragan are the godparents to one of Nazaria's sons."

Diego de Estrada (son of Diego de Estrada) & Sebastiana Montano - Dispensation Record - 1724

Hi Everyone,
Here's the dispensation record for Diego de Estrada II and Sebastiana Montaño dated 1724.

This doc shows the link between the Estradas, Cortez, Montaños, Gomez de Espejo, and Ruiz de Velasco.

From their union, you get the Muños de la Barba and Gutierrez connection.
Diego de Estrada and Sebastiana Montaño's (1708-1753) children, two that I have verified, were:

Luisa Rosalia de Estrada m.1756 to Luis Antonio Muños de la Barba (Juan Muños de la Barba & Juana Hernandez)

Nicolas de Estrada m.1753 María Magdalena Gutierrez (Lucas Gutierrez & Manuela Delgado)

Hope this helps.

Joe

Antonio (Cano) de Nava y Estrada

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this person or persons.
There are several marriage entries in "Asuncion, Mexico, Distrito Federal, Mexico" with the name "Antonio de Nava y Estrada" as a groom. One has the inclusion of "Cano" as a surname. The marriage entry dates are 1643, 1654, 1659. *see pics

Can anyone shed some light on this person(s).

Thanks,
Joe

Villasenor/Cervantes y Lara ancestral line

I am including this email both to the group and to you. The
nuestrosranchos.org group is absolutely FREE. I have never asked anyone
to submit 14 generations and sometimes I've accepted as few as 1
generation for those that are new to genealogy. I don't know if there
are individuals in the group studying exactly these lines but I'll know
in a few days as the messages circulate among the members. I've not
considered a person for membership based on the trade system you are
proposing. Of course there are individuals in the group that probably
thought the same thoughts you are verbally expressing. If anyone in the
group replies I'll certainly put you in contact with those individuals
if they request to communicate with you, but I'll need to think about
your request for membership as your terms have activated my concern
related to "what is best for the group".

I'll let you know.

Joseph,

I meant to ask you if this is going to come down to making payments for
information. I hope not since I am willing to share my research on the
condition that they lay open theirs for me to see. As I told you
before, I have 14 generations of research on my father's side to share
but on an equal basis. Of most importance is the research on the
Villasenor/Cervantes y Lara ancestral line. If they have nothing on
this then I may have to reconsider because what I will make know has
been researched for many years by the Micheles of Jalisco under the
leadership Padre Salvadore Michel of Guadalajara a descendent of Pedro
Regalado Michel Corona. When you speak to the researchers ask them if
they can assist me with research on Villasenor/Cervantes y Lara
ancestral line which connects with Perez de Alencastre line that
connects with the Micheles of Tonaya and beyond. It is at this juncture
of my research, Villasenor/Cervantes y Lara that I am stymied and would
like to move on if possible. If they can help with this I am willing to
help them as well

Sincerely,

Juan Andres Michel

Francisco Delgadillo y Anna María Ruiz

Hi,
Is any one out here researching the Delgadillo's of Aguatinta, Lo De Carrera, Nochistlán, Mechoacanejo y Teocaltiche? Or can Help us locate missing information?

Several of my distant cousins and I who have Family trees have been Stuck for a long time now on Francisco Delgadillo and Anna María Ruiz; born circa 1745. Non of their kids records contain information of their grandparents, nor have we been able to find the Marriage Records for Francisco and Anna Ma. There are a couple of Franciscos born around the time in Teocaltiche but I do not know if it is one of them or not at all. Does any one have any information that can help us or suggestions?
Thanks,
SIS

Hello & Hola!

Hola primos! I'm a new member here, and I'm really excited to share my discoveries and learn from all of you. My name's Eduardo and I live in San Jose, California. I have been researching my family history for about 15 years, but I only just recently moved into my Mexican lines after discovering the fantastic indexes over at Familysearch.com.

I try to be very careful about what makes it into my tree. If I don't have solid support for something, I'll hold off until the evidence gets better.

I can speak/read/write both in English and Spanish. But I was raised in the U.S., so English comes to me more naturally. I'm one half Mexican. My mother is from Guadalajara and was the only one of 11 kids raised in her family to leave Mexico. Most of my aunts and uncles have died off, so I feel that my base, my connection with family and to the real Mexico is fading. I am sad about that. I wish it weren't so.

I'm a lawyer by training (but I don't practice law), so I tend to be precise, analytical, skeptical, etc. Anyway, I'll try to post relevant stuff and be helpful. Let me know if there is something I can do for you!

Oh, Joseph Puentes said I should put this link in my introduction: eduardo1966
(Did I do that right?)

Kind regards,

Ancestry.mx from USA?

I recently let my Ancestry.com subscription lapse because of the cost and a lack of relevant new databases there. I've pretty much tapped out that site over the years.

But Ancestry.mx seems to have transcriptions of Familysearch.com Mexican records that are not transcribed on Familysearch. I checked the price for a subscription at Ancestry.mx, and it is about half what it costs for Ancestry.com.

Has anybody tried and been successful at subscribing to Ancestry.mx from a US-based IP address? Is so, were you able to subscribe with your ID from Ancestry.com?

If Ancestry.mx permits this, I'm ready to give it a go.

Diego de Estrada

I have some new info on Diego de Estrada who was married to Antonia Gomez de Espejo Velasco.
The documents are from a marriage dispensation for Manuel Avino & Maria de Jesus Cortes. Maria was the daughter of Yfigina de Estrada and Yfigina was the daughter of Diego de Estrada. It seems to mention that Diego's mother was Ana de la Barba.

Could someone please help with the translation.

Thx,

Estrada bocanegra ancestors brickwall

Does anybody know who the parents of Beatriz Andrada Bocanegra are? I descend from the Bocanegra from my Cervantes line but have been unable to go further on this line. Beatriz is the wife of Bernardino de Estrada "El Viejo" who is the son of Conquistador Francisco de Estrada, and grandson of Juan Sanchez de Estrada.

Thanks,
R.A.Ricci

Luciano Lomellini

Luciano Lomellini is named in a will of his brother Napoleone Lomellini in 1587.

They are the sons of Paolo Vincenzo Lomellini and Caterina Spinola

Paolo Vincenzo Lomellini is the son of Goffredo Lomellini and one of his two wives

Goffredo Lomellini was married twice, first to Bartolommea Fiesco (daughter of Giacomo Fiesco) and secondly to Novella Cicala ( daughter of Simone Cicala)

Luciano Lomellini is mostly likely born c 1555

There is a Giacomo Fiesco that is a viceroy of Naples and is the father of Saint Catherine of Genoa. I have not confirmed that they are the same Giacomo Fiesco.

Surnames: Mora; de Robles; Salamanca and Bautista

I have the following ancestors, that I located on FHC IGI files -
Maria Seberiana Mora, place of birth: Guadeloupe, Caribbean daughter of Nicanor Mora y Josefa de Robles. I have not located a birth record for Seberiana. She (age 18) married Jose Victorio de la Trinidad Salamanca (age 29) on 07 Oct 1840 - Parish Santa Maria Mecatabasco, Villa Del Rufugio, Zacatecas. No birth record for 'Trinidad," has been located either. On their marriage IGI Trinidad's place of birth is Guadalupe De Juanacatis,,,Mexico. 1). Where is Guadaupe De Juanacatis (in Mexico or Carribbean?)
2). Was there a migration period during the time frame of 1821 to 1840 from the Caribbean Islands to Mexico ? Or is this an example of FHC indexing error?
Thank You,
Pat

Parents of Cristobal Leal cc Francisca de Ayala

Hello, Cousins.

Recently saw in my inbox a discussion on the Leal de Ayala family. Don't know how to respond via that method, so I'm posting my comments on this forum.

I, too, descend from Agustin Gomez de Mendoza and Maria Leal de Ayala (dtr of Joseph Leal de Ayala and Josefa de Carvajal y Lomelin). Maria's paternal grandparents are Cristobal Leal and Francisca de Ayala. All this is researched and well-known. Jaime Holcombe wrote of them and Mariano Gonzalez-Leal included a chapter on Leal de Ayala in his invaluable Retoños.

What I have not seen published are the parents of Cristobal Leal. Of course, I may have missed it. But just in case...

In the Guadalajara protocolos of Diego Perez de Rivera is the 30 Nov 1665 testament of Cristobal Leal originally from La Huasteca, Provincia de Panuco. His parents were Juan de Cervantes and Juana Leal, both deceased. He named his wife Francisca de Ayala, hl of Antonio de Llamas and Mariana de Ayala, and stated her dowry had been 1500 pesos. He named the following eight children: Joseph, Maria (cc Felipe de Rivera), fray Tomas, Juana, priest Antonio, Cristobal Leal, Francisca Leal de Ayala and Gertrudis de Ayala y Leal.

In the Guadalajara protocolos of Jose Lopez Ramirez is the 30 Jul 1687 testament of Francisca de Ayala, hl Antonio Llamas and Mariana de Ayala, both deceased. Her husband Cristobal Leal was also deceased. She named the following seven children: Maria, Gertrudis, Francisca, Joseph Leal, fray Tomas, priest Antonio, and Juan Leal (deceased).

On page 137 of his edited letters, Jaime Holcombe referred to Cristobal Leal's testament and mentioned where to find it. I don't think he ever had a chance to see it.

I just posted in Dropbox my FGS of Cristobal Leal cc Francisca de Ayala and Joseph Leal de Ayala cc Josefa de Carvajal. These were done some time ago and are incomplete, but may be of help to someone.
