Jalisco Civil Register

Thanks for the fast response. I have not tried the number 7 for
office number. I will do soon. Also, I just need a copy for my
records. How do I order that? And last, can you get birth certificate
records of deceased family members (prior to 1900)?

Thank you, Guillermo.

Jalisco Civil Register

Did you try putting a “7” in
the office number?  I looked at the instruction page, and they had a “7”
in the office box.

Are you needing, a certified copy for your
grandmother, or do you just need a copy for your record?

Thanks,

Jonathan

Hi there. I checked this web site to order a certified copy of my

Grandmother, but unfortunately you need to enter
an office number,

which I don't have a clue what this is. I couldn't
go any further.

Anyone knows how to bypass this?, since I have no
information of

any "office" that they are requesting.
Any help would be greatly

appreciated.

Hi Josephine, I have a question.

I noticed you requested baptismal certificate of a family member in
Mexico (Zacatecas) and was wondering if you could tell me how to go
about requesting them from the Catholic church.

Thank you in advance for your attention to my message.

Guillermo Valdez.

My lineage in Los Altos de Jalisco

Hi all, I just recently joined the group and I am researching for
information on my mother's side ancestors. They are from Los Altos de
Jalisco, some from ranchos and some from small towns.

The surnames I am researching are Hernández, Cervantes, Abarca and
Valle (some other relatives are Placencia, Nuño, Nuñez and Sánchez).
They are mostly from the area of San Jos de Gracia, Atotonilco el
Alto, Ocotln, Arandas and the ranchos of Ortiguilla, Ojo de Agua de
Latillas, La Muralla, Barranquilla and El Salvador.

My farthest I could get was to my great great grandfather Marcelino
Valle, born in the mid-1800s and his 2 wives; Rita Hernández and
Toribia Nuño (or Nuñez) (married again after Rita died). Also my
great grandparents were Refugio Cervantes and Leonides Valle
(Marcelino's daughter), and Bruno Hernández and Catalina (or
Catarina?)Hernández; my grandparents were Félix Hernández (son of
Bruno and Catalina) and Guadalupe Cervantes (daughter of Leonides).

Hi

My name is Anita and I am researching family members from Zacatecas.
I will post a file in the database with their names. Currently, I am
researching the the Amaro and Santos families from Carillo or
Adjuntas Del Refugio, Zacatecas, Mexico.

It's very nice to find this group!

Hello,

I am trying to find La Hacienda del Lobo in San Matias, Pinos,
Zacatecas. I have looked up the area map and cannot pinpoint where
this Hacienda could have been. Does anyone have an idea how to find
it? We tried using the Ranchos info Joseph Puentes has sent, but it
doesn't work.

can you be specific about this so I can look into it?

joseph

ps: do you think its possible that the Hacienda or Rancho could be
called Coyote or Coyotes rather than Lobos?

pps: this book covers all of Zacatecas. If anyone else wants some pages
of it put into the "files" area let me know and I'll eventually get to
it. . . .puede ser.

Hacienda del Lobo in Pinos, Zacatecas

Regarding your question about the hacienda - I recently learned while I was
in Mexico digging up materials about the village from where my husband was
born, that many haciendas/villages were given the opportunity to change their name
after the Mexican revolution - and many did. The rationale was that the
"people" were empowered with their land, and so there was an effort to erase the
autocracy which had existed under colonial rule and before the revolution. Some
haciendas eventually became small villages, and retained a portion of their
original name -

On the other hand, as what happened to me in Monterrey, the hacienda's name
actually became a "colonia" of the expanding city of Monterrey - I don't know
how big Pinos, Zacatecas is......perhaps that can be explored....

I hope this helps....

I believe there is a site that may have a list of some of those
village/hacienda name changes, perhaps someone else on the board can recall....
