Mary, If you want to forward me those copies I would be happy to help. My Spanish is fluent, but depending on the age of the documents it might take me a little more time with the older documents. I have experience with 1700's Spanish. I also know some very experienced genealogists I could ask for help if I need to. Hi Joseph, Here is the link to look up a código postal: http://www.sepomex.gob.mx/cp/busca_cp.html I looked up Santa Maria de los Angeles, Jalisco, Colonia Santa Maria de los Angeles and got: 46240 For Apatzingan, Michoacan I selected one of the Colonia's at random and got: 60656 You would need the address to get an accurate zip code, but now you have the link. Joseph, do I need to be a member to get into the IGI search at Family Search? I am looking for the birth of my Dad, or the marriage of my grandparents. But I am only able to get into the Family History Library Catalog.
Thanks

Dear Mr Puentes, I just came back from the Univerisity of Las Cruces in New Mexico. I need someone to help me translate the copies that I made, matrimonales, limpa de sangre, and some other copies. Also how do I get a password and an ID to enter information on the Rancho web. Thank you Mary Joseph Puentes wrote: > How many of you all are thoroughly using the IGI parent search feature > of the Family Search website? I can't remember but do any of these names sound familiar to anyone here?

I need the CP (?Codio Postal?) for both Santa Maria de Los Angeles and
Apatzingan Michoacan.
Does anyone have any ideas how to get the CP's for these places and
other ranchos in Mexico?
thanks, joseph
okay there are a bunch of folks on this list and only a few have sent
in their genealogies. . .divy up. Also some of you sent your genealogies
in an email --- I'm going to somehow put these into a file in the File
section. . .so can you all that sent your info in an email to the group
send them to me again with the subject: Genealogy of "Your Name"
Try to use this format:
complete name (dob: ___, place of birth:____) married (date/place)
complete name (dob: ___, place of birth:____):
their children: 1) complete name (dob: ___, place of birth:____) 2) complete name (dob: ___, place of birth:____) 3) complete name (dob: ___, place of birth:____) 4) complete name (dob: ___, place of birth:____) #1 married complete name (dob: ___, place of birth:____) their children: #2 married complete name (dob: ___, place of birth:____) their children of course this will only work for very brief genealogies
if yours is longer try to input it into PAF or another program and send
it on
Thanks for clearing this up and I'm sure you are correct.

To All Who Would Help Preserve Hispanic History in the New World
You are hereby informed that a 2nd Edition of WITH ALL ARMS, the
monumental work of genealogical and historical research by the late
Carl L. Duaine, is in the process of preparation.
This project comes sixteen years after the first appearance of the
book, now that the last of the 2,500 original copies are selling for
$150.00 a copy...when they can be found.
The second edition will be done by Laurence Alan Duaine, son of
the author, dba Las Animas Press, and to the best of his ability and
understanding of his father's effort, a worthy successor to that
heroic job. This will be a printing run of at least 3,000, including
improved maps and illustrations. A primary aim will be to make the
book available at a much lower price and thus to a wider audience,
now that it has achieved the recognition that
Hmm..this could be interesting I also have a Mariana De Casas on my list
who was married to Felipe Carrillo who was my gggrandfather who had my
gg-grandfather Pedro Nolasco Carrillo born 2/8/1812 in Colotlan who then
had my ggrandmother Francisca Carrillo b. 1842 married to Casimiro Muro.
Could be a different Mariana??? (unless she married twice). I have
listed Mariana De Casas parents as Juan Antonio De Casas and Francisca
Marques. I would have to say my Mariana would be born abt. 1780 time-frame.
I'll look to see if I have that birth record/marriage record etc.

Hello, my name is Arturo Garza and I belong to a Hispanic organization based in Dallas, Texas. The name of the organization is HOGAR de Dallas. HOGAR stand for Hispanic Organization for Genealogy And Research, and as the name indicates, our organization caters mainly to Hispanic research. We are a young organization -- came into existance in 1998.
Every year we publish a journal which includes articles, stories, family charts, queries, and anything else that pertains to genealogy. Some of the family stories may not pertain specifically to genealogy, but the stories contain information about individuals, how they grew up, who they grew up with, where they grew up, etc. These stories have helped readers of our journals with some of their research because of names and places mentioned in the family stories.
Membership and sale of the journals is how HOGAR de Dallas remains in existance and we're able to provide genealogy research workshops in local libraries.
This year we
