Hello, all,
I have recently discovered more generations on my father's side. They
include the surnames Tinajero, Olague, Valdez, Feliz, Flores, Suriano, Salasar, Munos, Lucio, Vasquez, Garcia, Quijas, Banegas, Escobedo and possibly Mata. Most of these were baptized or married in Tepetongo, Zacatecas, but they lived in a community called El Salitrillo in the early 1700's to the late 1800's. Does anyone else have any connection to these families from this location? Both the men and the women used various surnames, but my research has proved that they are one and the same. For example, my great-grandmother Rafaela used the surnames Tinajero, Flores, Felix, or Suriano. Her father Hilario (Ylario) used the surnames Tinajero or Felix. Her mother Teodocia Flores also would sometimes use the surnames Felix or Suriano. This made finding their children a challenge, to put it mildly. I finally found my grandfather as Francisco Olague Felix, when I expected to find him as |

Respecto a tu pregunta…

I'm passing this along, in the event you were unaware, as I was! Subject: Cell Phone Telemarketers FYI.... JUST A REMINDER... 31 days from today, cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls. YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS... To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222. It is the national DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years. OR you may go online to register your home and/or cell phone at: www.donotcall.gov .

Here are some podcast sites, that are about genealogy: Dear Myrtle Family History Hour (posted every Tuesday): http://dearmyrtle.com/ The Genealogy Guys Podcast (posted every Sunday): http://www.genealogyguys.com/ Nuestra Familia Unida: http://nuestrafamiliaunida.com/ For those of you, that are new to podcasting. A podcast is a audio program, that is put on the internet, for people to download and listen to, at their own leisure. Also, for those of you, who are using a dialup internet connection. Remember when you click on the podcst button, to listen to the podcast. Remember, that podcast has to download. Usually, the podcast are aleast 10 megabytes in size. So it will take time to download. I have listened to all the podcasts, that are on each of the above site, and I have really enjoyed all of them, and I have learned something new, from each podcast. Jonathan

As an aside, I would like to say that the NARA Symposium was great, particularly the sessions with George Ryskamp. I also enjoyed meeting you Joseph and Natalie. There was not much of a turnout but I hope they continue to do these symposia... Next year we have to help them publicize the event a bit more. --- In ranchos@yahoogroups.com, Joseph Puenteswrote: > > I've got a new podcast online from the Hispanic Family History Symposium > this past weekend at NARA in DC. I've got a new podcast online from the Hispanic Family History Symposium
this past weekend at NARA in DC. It is not actually part of the
Symposium but a personal interview I conducted immediately after the
Symposium.
the location is: http://NuestrosRanchos.libsyn.com
I hope to have 5 more presentations from that Symposium online in the
next week or two.

I think this is your grandfather and your great-grandmother, Michael. Looks like your search will end up being in Fresnillo and Jerez, Zacatecas. I think this is your Victor and it looks like someone else is doing research on this family: Victor Gonzales Male Event(s): Birth: 06 MAR 1855 Fresnillo De Gonzalez Echeverria, Zacatecas, Mexico Christening: Death: 30 JUL 1934 Burial: Parents: Father: Abraham Gonzales Family Mother: Benancia Medina --- In ranchos@yahoogroups.com, "ftworthtexgonzales"wrote: > Hi Ranchos Group Members, > > I am Michael Gonzales and have a strong interest in the Gonzales, > Ayala, Calleros and Lucero lines in Zacatecas, Mexico on my > father's side and the Ayala, Zamora, Ortiz and Moreno lines in > Michoacan, Mexico on my mother's side. Victor: Was your grandfather's mother's last name Ayala? If so this may be a good start for your search from the IGI database. You can try looking up one of these baptismal records and see if the grandparent names match. No luck on finding Rancho San Justo, but the resource you are referencing is available online: http://biblio2.colmex.mx/bibdig/dicc_cubas/base3.htm Victor Gonzales Male Family Event(s): Birth: 06 MAR 1855 Fresnillo De Gonzalez Echeverria, Zacatecas, Mexico Christening: Death: 30 JUL 1934 Burial: Marriages: Spouse: Luisa Ayala Family Marriage: About 1880 , Zacatecas, Mexico Luisa Ayala Female Family Event(s): Birth: 25 AUG 1869 Jerez De Garcia Salinas, Zacatecas, Mexico Christening: Death: 02 SEP 1919 --- In ranchos@yahoogroups.com, "ftworthtexgonzales"wrote: > Hi Ranchos Group Members, > > I am Michael Gonzales and have a strong interest in the Gonzales, > Ayala, Calleros
Hi Ranchos Group Members, I am Michael Gonzales and have a strong interest in the Gonzales, Ayala, Calleros and Lucero lines in Zacatecas, Mexico on my father's side and the Ayala, Zamora, Ortiz and Moreno lines in Michoacan, Mexico on my mother's side. I was born in California and am a transplant to Texas. Most of my family is still in California, up and down the coast. I mainly use the LDS Family History Centers and the INS non- statistical records for Mexican border crossings in the 1912-20 timeframes. I also us the US Census records for family identifications in the 1920-30 period. I am trying to find my paternal grandfather's birth or baptismal records (Ramon Gonzales-31 August 1891). I have birth registrations for two of his brothers (Francisco and Julian) who were born in Rancho San Justo, Zacatecas, Mex, but nothing yet on my Paternal grandfather, Ramon. I have not yet tried to look up records on my great grandfather Victor Gonzales or my great grandmother
