Hola a todos
Hello. My name is Maria Huerta. I have been researching my family for a few years now of and on. My family comes from a little ranchito in the hills of Zacatecas, from Cosalima, Tabasco, Zacatecas to be exact. The names I am focusing on at the moment are Huerta, Medina (my father and mother), Avila and Muñoz (my grandmothers).
I have been able to trace the Huerta line back pretty far to around the early 1820's and thats where I hit a dead end, but 5 generations isn't bad.
I am not having the same luck with the others though. For Medina I only have 2 generations, for Avila I have 2 or 3 (I have some fact checking to do with my aunt) and for Muñoz I have 4. Luckly my great-grandmother on the Muñoz side and my great-grandmother on the Huerta side were sisters, so alot of it is replicated. And yes that means I am related to my self. (eeeww)

Welcome officially Maria to the group. My name is Daniel A. Mendez Camino. 14years of age and LOVE genealogy. I am searching in Huanusco, Zac not too far from Tabasco and also in Calvillo, Ags. and all over Jalisco and Michoacan. I too understand how it feels to be related to myself. My family still marries family till this day. I think the reason in my case since all my ancestors at least the males were (I always forget the word my grandpa told me) but they were like Spanish Lords and such who had silver and gold mines in southern Zacatecas and to top it all of they had winerys and A LOT of land. I guess they only wanted to mix with other Spanish lords I dont really know. Much of or almost all their wealth was lost in the Revolution of 1910. All that exist to this day is just the winery. I've been only soing genealogy for about two years. Since I was really 12.
