I posted a comment on the previous topic "Lope Ruiz de Esparza 'el menor' is the 3rd cousin to St. Francisco Javier de Jasso," but since it was from 2016, I'm creating a new topic. I recently joined Nuestros Ranchos with hopes of finding more about the Esparza family that originated in Pamplona, Spain, among other challenges. I ran into Nuestros Ranchos while searching for documentation that verifies what is posted on Family Search. Does someone know whether the book mentioned by Rick A. Ricci in the previous topic has been published. If nothing else, the posts here have given me new resources to investigate. I'm happy to share anything new that I might discover, but there's so much here, I don't know whether I'll find more than what's already been shared.
My tree created using Family Search is in my folder is at https://nuestrosranchos.org/lambchop48, but the names and dates, especially in the Esparza branch, change each time I look because of updates and merges completed, often without source documentation other than "family" or "facts." My goal is to be able to find and use source documents with correct names and dates, so the trees on Family Search will be accurate. Thanks for any assistance that can be offered.

Thanks Rick. I wish your book was published, so I'd have a more accurate understanding of the Ruiz De Esparza generations. I must have a duplicate Martin Ruiz de Esparza y Huici (Vici) attached to my tree. I need to locate the correct one! It would be helpful if you could give me the Family Search ID number of that record. Having that might, also, answer other questions. I'm thinking that there may be an extra generation of Lope Ruíz De Esparza on my tree, as it stands.
I read on a post from Nuestros Ranchos that Lope Ruíz De Esparza was NOT married to Ana Maria Diaz de Equino, although they did have a natural son who was the Lope Ruíz De Esparza who emigrated to the Indies in 1593. Was he also married to Maria De Caparroso Cruzat, or is Family Search correct that the Lope Ruíz De Esparza who was the father of Lope Ruíz De Esparza who emigrated to the Indies in 1593 was the son of Lope Ruíz De Esparza who was married to Maria De Caparroso Cruzat? From references I read, it seems he's the son of Lope Ruíz De Esparza who was married to Maria Espinosa. The birthdates, mostly estimated with no explanation, don't make sense for this to be the case. There's also the question of children which may be duplicated under both generations.
I'm mostly searching for accurate information on the generations prior 1593. As I mentioned, there's always changes being made on Family Search and many aren't explained or documented. Recently most of the Ruiz Esparza ancestors' names were changed to only Ruiz. I'm aware that in later generations some lines of the family only used Ruiz, but that doesn't make it correct to change the ancestor's name! I just finished correcting the changes using documented sources of the full name, but who knows whether they'll get changed again.

The men in Lope Ruiz de Esparza were much older for many generations and that is why it seems that someone is missing in the lines, but that isn’t so. The proof is in the legal documents that were left regarding inheritances and transfers of property. What I put in my post is accurate except for the part about the captain Andres being his brother. Capitan Andres was not a brother, not even a first cousin. He was a relative from another town not too far.
I repeat that there is not an extra generation!
The lineage that I provide is based on research and not made up. The mistake is in the familysearch line where they don’t have the mother as Maria Espinoza.

Hello Dana and welcome to nuestrosranchos,
The answer is that my book isn’t published yet. And the answer to your other question about the Ruiz de Esparza ancestry on familysearch is that most of what they put is straight out of what I wrote here. But they have a big mistake as they put a wrong wife in The lineage. The wifes are the ones that I have posted here on nuestrosranchos.
Good luck in your research,
Rick A. Ricci

3). Martin Ruiz de Esparza y Huici (Vici), señor del palacio de Esparza (Galar), vecino de Pamplona and Maria de Espinosa (Spinosa) are the parents of Lope Ruiz de Esparza. On familysearch I see that they wrongly post Martins third wife as the mother of Lope Ruiz de Esparza Sr. The mistake that I had put in my previous post was when I added Mariano Gonzalez Leal’s mistake that Capitan Andres Ruiz de Esparza (b.1542) was a brother of Lope Ruiz de Esparza Jr. He is related but not a brother.
