I am researching my grandfathers branch of the family tree. I have considerable oral information. Enough to get started at least. Here is what I know of my grandfather. His name was Pablo Macias.

I just returned last night from a visit to my parents' home in Mexico and had the pleasure of spending a couple of days in the archives in Guadalajara with the town historian (cronista) of Totatiche, Esteban Valdes Salazar. We visited the Biblioteca Publica del Estado as well as the Archivo Historico del Estado de Jalisco.
I need help, since everyone know that I descend from Don Juan del Camino, hidalgo who was the preseident de la audencia and grandchild of Juan Camino, a hidalgo who was the register and conquistador had a coat of arms. I would love to see my families coat of arms. Finally a line with proof and evidence with coat of arms its a fun breakthrough! I got hte coat of arms from Pares but cant seem to see it. I've been working in my family history for 3 years now but mainly in Yucatán and Galicia from where my father's family came from.
My Garcia line ends at 1800 at Don Theodoro Garcia husband of Dionicia de Calvillo. I have a baptism for one of there daughters of whom i descend. I descend from 3-4 of their kids. I need to order the baptism so i can get the line to the 1770's.

Anyways, I'm just writing to announce (y presumir) that I just added a new generation to my family tree. My daughter Natalie Itzel Apodaca was born on October 11, 2007 in Winston-Salem, NC. She weighed 7 lbs and 1.6 ounces, and measured 20 inches. My wife and I are so happy! Well, I just thought about writing it in this forum, even though there are lots of new members since the last time I posted a message and most haven't read me before.

Hello, I am Hope Gonzalez Martin. I am first generation Mexican American, my parents were both born on the Rancho Buena Vista, Jalisco, as were many of my grandparents and relatives. I am concentrating on my Father's family. I have been able to trace my grandparents back to my gggg grandfather Jose Gertrudis Gonzales. I have used the local library of the LDS to obtain copies of birth,christening and marriage recordings. I think my gggg grandfather Jose Gertrudis was from Spain, the earliest recording I have of him is that he was a witness at my ggggg grandparent marriage in 1802 in the town of Tacotlan, Jal.
