Ricardo, que gusto, nuevamente eres la luz en el oscurantismo de mi enigma familiar, muchas gracias. De verdad los Valdivia son morenos? conservo una foto de la boda de mis abuelos y mi abuela al igual que sus hermanas eran muy blancas y con ojos azules o verdes, creo que ya te había mandado esa foto te la vuelvo a mandar. La novia es mi abuela Agustina Valdivia Sánchez, a su lado sentada en el piso su hermana Conrrada, a su lado en la fila de atrás, enseguida del niño son Guadalupe y Rita, otras hermanas de mi abuela, como puedes ver son blancas y 2 son rubias, las tres hijas de mi abuela (mi madre y sus dos hermanas) son también blancas y mis dos tías son pelirojas (naturales). Creo que eso lo podremos arreglar con pruebas de ADN, existe gente que identifica el porcentaje de sangre de cada grupo étnico y continente en el ADN de un individuo, si muchos descendientes de los Valdivia nos haríamos esa prueba podríamos identificar las características comunes de la familia y determinar a que grupo pertenecen. Por cierto, tu sabes como donde y como hacerse éstos exámenes? Te pido de favor que en cuanto tu tiempo te lo permita imprimas la foto y se la muestres a los primos de mi abuela para ver si se acuerdan de ella y sus hermanas. Many of my family members have done dna testing. The Mexican is a mixed lot. Many of my Villarreal cousins have tested and the testing indicates and traditions suggest a jewish heritage. Then there is my mother's maternal grandfther who's gene's were tested cpurtesy of my mother's maternal cousin revealed that my great grandfather's line was celtic. Then there are my Arriola cousin's tests that reaveal them to be Trevino Velasco and that is my maternal grandfather's line that show's them to be semitic but I not sure if they were jews. Then there is my father's line the Arredondos, care of my brother. His test also revealed a semetic heritage which I believe might be Greek. My brother also did a mitochrondial test to reveal an indian heritage.

Sorry it's taken so long to write and share my experiences with all of you regarding the 3er Conferencia Bi-Niacional Genealogica de Coahuila.
It was an amazing event, much more than I expected. First of all Maria Cortez and I met up with 3 members of Nuestros Ranchos, Mickey Garcia, Josie Treviño and Wellester Alvarado. That was number one on my list, not only because they are Ranchos members and I felt as if I'd already known them but because they were so kind and gracious, taking us under their wing, introducing us to almost everyone as they knew almost everyone.
